Since 2005 ArtsChange has been honored to be the only arts organization in a coalition of 20 Richmond community based Organizations participating in a collaborative body of work encouraging Healthy Eating and Active Living, sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, with Neighborhood House of North Richmond as lead agency. The coalition is building work in the schools, businesses, health center and community with a primary focus on be "building zones of connectivity in Richmond", or areas with increased healthy options, safety and walkability. In the next year ArtsChange will be designing marketing elements and public works to enhance walking areas and encourage eating fruits and vegetables, with vivacious giant fruits and vegetables, enhanced walkways, puppets and youth projects.
